Hajime then finds himself beginning to doubt those around him and must work to stop his newfound friends from killing one another, all the while trying to unravel the mystery of the bizarre Jabberwock Island.Īs with the first game in the series, Goodbye Despair mixes in a thrilling overarching mystery plot – just what exactly is this un-explainable tropical paradise and why have this group of people been brought here – with individual murder mystery cases that are an absolute joy to unravel, even if it risks uncovering someone you’re particularly fond of as the cold-hearted killer. Things are incredibly well paced, slowly dropping nuggets of information until things crescendo in the final two chapters into a fanservice-laden finale that wraps things up perfectly. Guided by an optimistic rabbit named Usami, he and 15 other classmates are told they need to relax, bond together and gather ‘hope fragments’ in order to end the vacation – a strange situation, but certainly not a deadly one… ![]() When a young student from the prestigious Hope’s Peak Academy named Hajime Hinata wakes up on a gorgeous tropical beach with no memory of how he got there, he struggles to adapt to this new lifestyle. ![]()
